Miriam: Our Angel…. in Johannesburg

While Mum & I had finished our shopping trip, we waited for an hour and a half to have our ’safe taxi’ collect us. We had met the lovely Miriam from our favourite stall, and bless her, she kept using her mobile phone to check on our driver who had got lost. She continually directed him to find us, and then ran across the market to hop into his car and direct him to us.Wonderful people in South Africa, and Miriam is one of them… thank you, Miriam!

Weddings in Guernsey just went up a notch. We now have a wonderful new venue, the Town Markets. The inner street in St Peter Port’s markets makes a stunning location for the wedding of Jan & Andy. These images are from Iain, who shot the wedding for me. I will be designing a beautiful Graphibook from them to give Jan & Andy a wonderful record of their wedding day. What a lovely couple, so romantic and in love, it’s written all over their faces! The evening dance was a lot of fun too, with everybody dancing.

St James in Guernsey is a beautiful place to have a wedding. The venue is a lovely old church building in the heart of St Peter Port, and a popular place to get married, instead of the Greffe offices.Amy & Christopher had a very unusual humanist wedding, to follow the Greffier who came out to do the legal bit.It was a very moving ceremony, with not a dry eye in the house, as Chris and Amy spoke their own written vows to each other.Their little son, Charlie was a dream all day, not a peep from him.St James building was a great colour match for the bridesmaids.

For many years, I used to offer free baby sessions to the babies born in Guernsey. But somebody complained that I was sending out invitations to local babies… so now, I have to wait for the parent’s to ‘find’ me to take advantage of my offer!I love photographing newborn babies, so if you know someone who would appreciate images like the ones below, of baby Harry, get in touch. They make great birth announcements, what is better than your own newborn on the birth announcement, or ‘thank you’ cards?Babies need to be photographed before 10 days old. So get in quick! I will call to the house, no need to hoover or tidy up for my vist… I’ve had four of the little darlings, and I know how it is!Guernsey Parents, give me a call to claim your free baby session! 01481 241331

Patrick & Julia’s Wedding

Patrick and Julia came all the way from their home in Switzerland to get married in Guernsey. Julia’s connection to theisland is her mother, who is a Guernsey lass. They had a lovely cliff top wedding over looking Bon Port, and made their vows in the sunshine. It was a romantic, lovely way to celebrate the start of their lives together.I had the pleasure of photographing Patrick and Julia before the big day in the studio. This was a great idea, as it helped us all feel comfortable with each other, and get some really relaxed images on the day. Then, to my delight, Julia agreed to do an ‘Apres Wedding’ session in her dress! I love doing these, as it’s a relaxed session after the day, to get dressed up again, and play in the dress. We went to L’Ancresse common in St Sampsons, and created some amazing looks for them to treasure. Then onto the beach at L’Ancresse, and a walk in the water. About as far from Swiss mountains as possible!A great few days to remember with Patrick & Julia.
